Girl names have always been hard for us. I went to the hospital liking Kathleen Margaret the first time, and when we left with a Jacqueline Noel (which didn't come up until the hospital), I decided we could name the next girl Kathleen Margaret. Well, we left with Leah Margaret, whose first name didn't come up until the hospital either, even though we had 21 weeks to figure it out. This time I am making a list. I have had lots of great suggestions.
One of the hardest things for me this time around is a middle name. I really like to use a middle name that comes from someone in the family, and we are getting to slim pickings of names that I like. We had a suggestion that we could use Casey for the middle name, because even though it comes from Baby Tina's daddy, it can go either way, which I think is cute. This morning Papa Tom came up with a new suggestion for a middle name Kade (pronounced Kay-Dee) which he got from the two grandmothers - Kathy and Deb. It is very cute, uncommon spelling, or at least an uncommon pronunciation because the spelling is what I know to be a boy's name.
What about a first name, you ask? Right now some of the names at the top of my list are Natalie, Caroline, Abigail and Claire. I don't really think Natalie goes with either Kade or Casey, but Caroline and Abigail both sound good with either one. And Claire sound OKAY with either one, but if Claire made it to the top of the list come hospital time, not sure if either middle name would go all way. Actually, I kind of like Claire Elaine, which comes from a really dear friend of the family who passed away when Monica and I were under 5 years old.
I still really like Elizabeth, and ever since I was little I like Allison and Megan, but those are my SILs, so they won't make the final list. Hey! What about Lindy? I had a friend at UNI named Lindy and I really liked that one. And this is why we have such a hard time naming our girls... there are WAY too many good names!
That's where I stand right now. Thank you to everyone who has suggested names!!! They are all on the list and as we narrow it down, my favorites may not even go all the way. We'll have to see... in the end, Casey and I have to love the name. :)
